Marcy Hyman has thirty (30) years of experience as an educational therapist, specializing in students pre-school through second grade. Her private practice is in Boca Raton and NYC.

Marcy graduated from Ohio State University then earned a Masters Degree in Learning Disabilities at Fairleigh Dickinson University with additional training in the time-tested, critically acclaimed Orton-Gillingham reading methodology. She is a member of the Association of Educational Therapists and the International Dyslexia Association.

As a believer in the dramatic impact of early intervention on long-term achievement, Marcy uses a variety of research-validated, performance-focused, multi-sensory techniques founded on the Orton-Gillingham methodology. This methodology uses phonics and emphasizes visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning. Its focus is on the structure of language and gradually moves towards reading. Students receive immediate feedback and a predictable sequence that integrates reading, writing, and spelling.

Marcy also works on early math skills using a multi-sensory structured approach. In reading and math each lesson is individualized and tailored to your child’s needs, assuring success and increasing his or her self-confidence and enjoyment of the experience and subject.

One of the learning tools Marcy developed for her practice was licensed to Fisher-Price. Marketed as The Little People ABC Surprise School House, it became a best-seller.
